The RT3 Flight CMFE was officially certified by the Federal Aviation Administration in May 2010 to meet the performance standards specified in FAA Advisory Circular 5320-12C, Measurement, Construction, and Maintenance of Skid-Resistant Airport Pavement Surfaces.
The RT3 Flight meter is classified as a CFME (Continuous Friction Measurement Equipment) for friction measurement on runways. It is equipped with a laminar flow water delivery system to provide a uniform water layer at the tire contact with the runway surface.
Highly sensitive to changes in runway surface friction values, it has a repeatability of above 98%.
It uses NEW patented technology originally developed in auto racing and now being used to accurately measure road surface friction in the USA, Japan, Sweden and Canada.
Over the last 8 years, this technology has been tested successfully for accuracy, sensitivity; reliability and repeatability by several independent government bodies worldwide.
