Halliday Technologies Inc. RT3™ is a rugged grip meter specifically designed to record continuous road surface grip measurement in any condition: wet, dry, or at any stage of anti-icing, snow removal and deicing operations. It provides grip readings to the operator of a winter maintenance vehicle via an in-cab display with easy to interpret green, yellow, and red LED lights: green indicating good surface conditions, yellow indicating more slippery conditions, and red lights warning of dangerous driving conditions. Data can also be directed to a secure web site via an MDC (see data uses page). Presently, the RT3™ is manufactured in four versions:

under-truck right hand mount, which uses the hydraulics of the snow plow to create a constant force on the RT3™ tire.
under-truck right hand mount, which uses ballast weight to create a constant force on the RT3™ tire and incorporates the Halliday hydraulic module for elevation, deployment and shock absorption
tow hitch right hand mount, which uses ballast weight and can be towed behind a supervisor's vehicle
tow hitch left hand mount, which uses ballast weight and can be towed behind a supervisor's vehicle (as used in Hokkaido Japan)
